Advice
I focus on strengthening existing integrity frameworks. Clarifying roles of co-working integrity specialist so they can support each other and resolve conflicts. But also deeper in the organization on redefining the mission that help to strengthen the internal ethos. To base my advice I like to use workshops and interviews with professionals in the organization because they experience the consequences of a lack of focus and stability in the mission.
My advice draws from experiences as a consultant developing integrity systems but also from working directly under managers as an interim integrity specialist. This means that my advice is practical and doesn’t require a redrawing of the map before results can expected. Step by step I take the organization through a profound transition but without taking away too much time and energy from daily practice. Working with not for profit organizations such as NGOs and local, regional and national governments is my strong suite.
Training
The workshops that I give focus on handling dilemma’s, carefully managing risks, mapping vulnerabilities, strengthening leadership and justice in armed conflict settings. Participants not only gain insights about the work they do but I also make sure they also get practical tools they can start using right away such as step by step decision-making plans, checklists for risks and year development plans.
The atmosphere I like to foster in my trainings is one of reflection and personal engagement. Clients that worked with me describe my trainings as highly informative, in-depth and engaging. Every organization and team is different so I thoroughly prepare and custom-make every training I give drawing on existing and tested formats. Modules can be handpicked, extending or limiting time for a certain subjects is not a problem. Trainings that I have given in the past lasted from programs of multiple days to full day sessions to one hour preview workshops and everything in between.
My preferred training audience is professionals of all sorts and backgrounds where I can focus on their work practice. Other audiences that I have a lot of experience in working with are citizens that work and live in areas of armed of armed conflict. Currently my work here focusses on the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
Coaching
I limit my coaching to only working with consultants. Consultants that work in armed conflict zones, HR and in government and NGO’s can benefit from my experience.
My coaching deepens your understanding of the role of ethos and norms that form the often overlooked undercurrent in organizational transformation processes. These insights can make you better at developing effective internal change strategies, handling (historic) injustices and managing value conflicts. I also like to learn from you. For instance how you do your external communication, what you do to process information effectively and what your go-to question is to get people to open up. In our work together we both might get better at navigating organizational politics and managing resistance.
